Expert Heel Pain Relief & Personalized Foot & Ankle Care

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. If discomfort is making it hard to take a walk, run errands, or get through your normal day, you are not alone. At Vale Foot and Ankle, we offer personalized treatment options to address plantar fasciitis and relieve heel pain. Whether your symptoms are new, recurring, or long-standing, our team is here to help you find lasting relief.

What is Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis happens when the band of tissue that supports the bottom of your foot becomes irritated. That irritation often shows up as sharp heel pain, especially with the first steps in the morning or after sitting for a while. Over time, it can make everyday movement harder and limit how active you feel comfortable being. Flat feet are a common contributor, but they are not the only one.

Issues like flat feet, high arches, extra strain on the feet, or wearing the wrong shoes can also place stress on the Achilles tendon and surrounding structures, increasing discomfort and risk of injury.

At Vale Foot and Ankle, we know how frustrating foot pain can be and how much it affects daily life. Our focus is not just easing the pain, but identifying what is causing it so you can move forward with confidence and lasting relief.

Bunions

Bunions

A bunion is a bony bump that forms at the base of the big toe. It develops when the bones in the front of the foot shift out of place, causing the big toe to angle inward toward the second toe. Over time, this misalignment pushes the joint outward, creating a visible and often painful bump on the side of the foot.

Arthritis

Our Process for Diagnosing Plantar Fasciitis

Most cases of plantar fasciitis can be treated without surgery. Treatment is tailored to the severity of your symptoms, your daily routine, and how quickly you want to return to normal activity. Common non surgical treatment options include:

  • Rest and activity adjustments: Reducing high impact activities such as running or prolonged standing on hard surfaces to ease strain on the heel.
  • Targeted stretching: Exercises focused on the plantar fascia, Achilles tendon, and calf muscles to improve flexibility and reduce tension.
  • Supportive footwear and orthotics: Proper shoes and inserts designed to relieve pressure and improve foot support.
  • Ice and anti inflammatory care: Used to reduce inflammation and manage pain during flare ups.
  • Night splints or heel supports: Provide support during rest and help reduce morning heel pain.
  • Physical therapy: Rehabilitation focused on restoring strength, mobility, and proper movement.

With consistent care, many patients experience relief within a few weeks, with continued improvement over time.

Plantar Fasciitis Treatment Options

Fortunately, the majority of plantar fasciitis cases do not require surgery. We will create a treatment plan that adapts to the severity of your symptoms, how you are living your life, and how quickly you’d like to return to normal activity. Some of the most popular non-surgical procedures include:

  • Rest and activity modifications: Reducing activity involving repeated impacts, such as running or standing on hard surfaces.
  • Stretching exercises: Specific exercises for stretching the plantar fascia, Achilles tendon, and calf muscles.
  • Shoes that provide support, along with inserts, also known as orthotics, help alleviate pressure on the feet.
  • Ice and Anti-Inflammatory Medication: These will help relieve the discomfort of the inflammation.
  • Night Splints or Heel Cups – To support the foot during rest.
  • Physical Therapy: Rehabilitative therapy targeted to regain strength and mobility.

With consistent practice, these techniques may provide relief within a few weeks to months.
